In order to foster students’ critical thinking skills, enhance their speech culture, and encourage them to express independent and well-founded opinions on pressing social issues, a debate competition on the topic “The 21st Century — The Dawn of Laziness!” was organized on October 15, 2025.
The event was held in cooperation with the Department of Youth Affairs, Spirituality, and Enlightenment. Students from various academic fields participated in the debate, presenting and defending their viewpoints on the given topic. The primary goal of the event was to encourage young people to reflect deeply on important social issues, strengthen their analytical thinking abilities, and cultivate a culture of constructive debate and dialogue.
During the debate, the two teams defended their positions using clear arguments, facts, and real-life examples. A lively discussion took place between the viewpoints “Modern youth striving for success are not lazy but adapted to the demands of the digital world” and “The conveniences of the 21st century are fueling laziness among young people.” In their speeches, the participants examined the impact of social media, the influence of technological advancements on human labor, as well as the motivation and sense of responsibility of today’s youth.
Throughout the event, students developed valuable skills such as critical and logical thinking, teamwork, evidence-based speaking, and adherence to the culture of discussion.
After an engaging and thought-provoking debate, the Inkor team emerged as the winner. At the conclusion of the event, the jury recognized and rewarded the most active participants, the teams presenting the strongest arguments, and the most engaged audience members.
This debate competition played a significant role in increasing youth social engagement, developing their capacity for independent thought, and encouraging them to express their perspectives on the social challenges of the modern world
